DSECUREEdge gateway

Secure capture at the edge.

DSECURE captures serial or USB data beside the equipment, runs released device drivers on the unit and forwards structured records, with the source values preserved, to the receiving systems your organisation approves.

DSECURE gateway: white enclosure with orange lid, Ethernet port on the side and four isolated USB ports at the front Fanless, rugged metal enclosure Ethernet 4 × isolated USB 3.2
2 × RS232Isolated DB9 serial ports for monitors, analysers and machines.
4 × USB 3.2Isolated USB ports for modern equipment.
Up to 7 daysCaptured data held while offline with one connected device, less with more, then sent on reconnection.
IEC 60601-1Compliant with the safety standard for medical electrical equipment.

Capture, process, deliver. Locally first.

Isolated inputs

Two isolated RS232 ports and four isolated USB ports mean that if one piece of connected equipment fails, the others keep working.

Protocol conversion

Released device drivers run on the unit, turning raw device streams into structured records with the source values, units and timestamps preserved, before anything leaves the box.

Store and forward

If the onward connection drops, captured records are kept in the unit’s memory, for up to 7 days with one connected device and less with more, and sent when it returns, for example when a cable is plugged back in. Records held in memory are lost if power is removed. Where the site allows it, Wi-Fi can act as a backup link. Readings from equipment that is itself disconnected cannot be captured.

Controlled delivery

Data is delivered only to receiving systems your organisation approves. Delivery is off until it is configured, and a local firewall is on by default.

On-unit visibility

A built-in OLED display shows status at a glance. DS Panel gives full control from any browser on site.

Signed updates

Firmware and software arrive as signed packages, proven on a bench unit before release and visible in DS-Nexus as they land.

Designed to sit safely beside medical and industrial equipment.

DSECURE is compliant with IEC 60601-1, the international safety standard for medical electrical equipment, and has passed UL electromagnetic compatibility testing to EN 60601-1-2. These standards shape how the ports are isolated, how the unit is powered and how it behaves alongside other equipment.

  • Isolated interfaces. Serial and USB ports are isolated and protected, so other equipment keeps working if one piece of equipment fails.
  • Compliant power adapter. The supplied USB-C adapter is compliant with IEC 60601-1, and is required for the stated safety basis.
  • Rugged metal enclosure. A durable, fanless metal case, built and tested for the real world.

DSECURE is a UKCA-marked Class I medical device: a connectivity gateway that transfers equipment data without assessing its clinical meaning. It does not decide alarm status or priority, or present information for clinical monitoring; the receiving system performs monitoring, clinical assessment and alarm functions. Healthcare deployments are validated locally by the customer’s engineering, IT, governance and clinical safety teams. Evidence for each standard is available to customers on request.

ManagementStandalone with DS Panel, or with our platform

The standards above apply to DSECURE used with its supplied power adapter. Evidence is available to customers on request. DSECURE is a connectivity gateway: it transfers source-generated data without assessing its clinical meaning and leaves monitoring and alarm functions to the receiving system.

Open platform, or healthcare integration path. Same hardware.

Open platform

For commercial, industrial, research and education use, DSECURE runs standalone on an open platform you configure and control, with or without our management software.

  • Your scripts, your destinations, your rules
  • Local capture and secure delivery
  • Fleet visibility in DS-Nexus

Healthcare integration path

For clinical deployments, DSECURE runs a healthcare software path through our integration partners, delivering device data to the integration engine or patient record system your organisation approves.

  • Drivers tested against the real device
  • Partner integration engines
  • Device data only on the route you approve (what moves where)
